Hunter Area Pathology Service Select Cognition V2.1 for Public Website Solution
24/03/2006
HAPS have selected Cognition to provide comprehensive management of the organisation’s public website. Through the redevelopment of the HAPS website and the implementation of Cognition, the organisation will derive numerous benefits from the ability to maintain content internally. A key benefit will be the ability of the organisation to rapidly publish time-critical bulletins and research documents to medicalprofessionals and the public on demand.
Future phases of the project may include the introduction of distributed content management and Cognition Portals to provide content efficiently to specific user-types demographically.
About HAPS
The Hunter Area Pathology Service (HAPS) was established in 1990. HAPS was one of the first services to centralise and integrate public pathology services across an Area Health Service. The Hunter area is a unique region in NSW Australia supporting metropolitan teaching hospitals and allied health facilities, medium to small rural hospitals, community health centres and nursing homes.
HAPS provides consultation, education and referral services to public and private laboratories within our own area and to a network of laboratories situated in the Mid-North Coast, Greater Murray, Northern Rivers and New England Area Health Services. HAPS functions as the Hub Centre for this network, which works cooperatively to assist rural health services, provide cost effective local pathology services and education programs.
